Don and I met in 1963 when he was a lead SE and I was a trainee in the Brooklyn office. We bonded immediately and formed a friendship that spanned three decades and crossed two continents. He was my first and most influential mentor. He and Bunny were among our most favorite IBM friends. We managed together in NYC, vacationed together in Puerto Rico and met again in Paris toward the end of our careers. Don was extraordinarily smart, consistently ethical, a great problem solver with a sharp sense of humor. It is easy to see why I admire him so and why he was such a great father , husband and friend.
