Obituary for Edina Mary Nakano

Edina Nakano,a loving mother, grandmother and friend passed away Sunday March 3,2013 at the age of 75. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 after the 1956 Hungarian Uprising. She married the love of her life, Yoshizo Nakano on February 14, 1959. Edina and Yoshizo became residents of Newtown in 1970, where they raised four sons. Edina was a vivacious, compassionate and caring woman who had a zest for life and her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Robert (Debbie) of Brookfield, Peter (Joan) of Southington, Steven of Newtown and Michael (Jillian) of Newtown; her siblings: Gabrielle Gleason (Steve) of Newtown, Elizabeth Mapsicza (Andy) of Southbury, Anthony Nemet of Hungary: her grandchildren: Robert Jr., Nicolette, Alexander and Colton: and her nieces and nephews: Christopher, Shawn (Luise), Courtney Gleason and David Nemet (Suzanne). Edina was predeceased by her mother, Elzabeth Heinrich and her father, Gaspar Nemeth. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Thursday March 7th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Friday March 8th at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery.
