Over the years, I was fortunate enough to get to know Gladys and came to think of her as family. Whenever I was in town to see mom, she would she would show up with one of her delicious baked goodies, often it was something with raspberries as she knew how I love them. For my Uncle Bob she would bring his favorite, chocolate cake. When mom could no longer drive, Gladys was happy to pick me up or take me to the airport. Gladys was the best friend and neighbor my mom could ever have. Gladys will be missed but always in our hearts.

I have such wonderful memories with my Aunt Gladys. When I was about 8 years old, my Mom and Dad (brother to Denny) took us on a vacation to Ohio and we stopped in Virginia to stay a night with Gladys and Denny. Although we arrived in the evening and it was already dark out, Aunt Gladys took us on a guided tour of Washington D.C. in her car. I was so impressed with her knowledge of every building we drove by. I still can see her driving and pointing out details to me. The next morning we all left together for the trip to Ohio to see other family members. I remember riding with Aunt Gladys and Uncle Denny and she had a huge pan of brownies in the front seat that she shared with us! When we returned home after our vacation, Aunt Gladys sent us a beautiful postcard photo album with all the places that she had taken us on the tour. My Mom still has the album after all these years. Thank you Aunt Gladys for the wonderful memories, you will remain in my heart.
