Grace Heagney passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on March 22, 2016 at Bethel Health Care with her loving family by her side.

Grace was born April 3, 1927 in Bridgeport CT, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Fekete) Urban. She was predeceased by her husband, William T. Heagney and siblings: Bela Urban, Ernest Urban and Irene Roach. Grace lived most of her life in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport where she worked for over 30 years at Bullard Manufacturing Company, forming many lifelong friendships.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Mary Beth Collier and husband Bob of Newtown; 5 grandchildren: James, Caitlin Romelli and her husband Keith, Kelly, Moira and Connor; 1 great-grandchild, Harper Grace and many nieces and nephews.

Her grandchildren will always remember "Little Pom's" sense of humor, smile that lit up her whole face and many wonderful overnights at her house in Black Rock. She truly enjoyed spending time with family and had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.

The family would like to especially acknowledge and thank granddaughter Moira for her compassionate care and constant presence during Grace's last week of life. We are forever grateful.

Calling hours will be Monday, March 28 from 5-8pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima church Tuesday, March 29 at 11am.
