Obituary for Irene Catherine Quinn (Colgan)

Irene Catherine  Quinn (Colgan)
Irene Catherine (Colgan) Quinn, 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully on December 30th 2013 in Ridgefield CT., after a long illness. Irene was the devoted wife of Terrance John Quinn, and is survived by her sons Thomas Quinn, Litchfield, CT Edward Quinn and daughter-in-law Linda Quinn, Northport, NY, daughter Carol Quinn Rodriguez and son-in-law James Rodriguez, St. Johns, Florida previously of Newtown. She is survived by 3 grandchildren, Lisa Jemison, and husband Chad Jemison, Cary, NC, Brian Quinn and wife Vanessa Quinn, military service in Hawaii, and Matthew Quinn, Northport, NY. . She is survived by 4 great grandchildren, Chloe Melissa Jemison, Maya Helen Jemison, Brianna Quinn and Julianna Quinn. Predeceased by granddaughter, Melissa Jean Rodriguez, sisters Cecelia O'Donnell, Jane Gaffney and brother Frank Colgan. Irene worked for many years for American Bakeries and then at The Ancient Mariner in Ridgefield, CT, owned by son Thomas. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Sunday January 5th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Monday January 6th at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Rose of Lima Memorial Fund, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470
