Jeanne Norma (Lupo) Waters of Sandy Hook and previously a longtime resident of Danbury passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday September 17, 2017. Mrs. Waters was the devoted wife of the late Robert J. Waters. Jeanne was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Ignatius and Dora (Terranova) Lupo. She worked for American Can Co. in Manhattan until 1960. Jeanne then moved to Danbury in 1970 where she worked for Sears until retirement. For many years, Jeanne and her late husband taught religious education classes in their home while they were parishioners of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a girl scout leader, enjoyed reading, classic movies and was an avid card player. Jeanne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children, Diane M. Waters Tyler and her husband Andrew of Manchester, Dorice Waters Heron and her husband Patrick of Sandy Hook and Robert G. Waters and his wife Debbie of New York. Also survived by three grandchildren, R. Michael Tyler, Nicholas Heron and Paige Tyler and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her sisters and brother, Nori Fatta, Angela Pellegrino and Rocco Lupo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Saturday September 23, 2017 at 10:00am. Interment in Wooster Cemetery will follow. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Friday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
