John Jeffrey Salva, loving husband of Melissa (Chuvala) Salva passed away suddenly on January 2 in Newtown. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughter, Piper Juliet, and his son, Jesse Paul. John was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 24, 1972. John enjoyed hiking, camping and outdoor activities. He spent many happy years living in Oregon with his wife and children, where he was able to enjoy these activities on Mt. Hood, his favorite place in the world. We know his heart will be in the wilderness, hiking the unsaved paths of Lolo Pass. John worked for many years as an automotive technician, most recently in Easton. He was a loyal and reliable friend and employee who always helped his fellow man at any time day or night. John was the “#1 Dad” whose greatest joy was watching his daughter, Piper, on the soccer field and coaching his son, Jesse, at BMX. John’s dedication and devotion to their success will forever remain with his children throughout their lives. In addition to his wife and children, John is survived by his parents, Janice and John Salva of Easton, his sister Jori Salva of Easton, his brother Jerrold Salva of Oxford, his mother in-law, Linda Chuvala and his father in-law, Paul (PJ) Chuvala of Rhode Island. Funeral Services will be held Monday January 7th at 7:00pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown. Friends may call Monday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm prior to the service.
