Obituary for Julie Anne Genz

Julie Genz, a longtime resident of Sandy Hook, CT passed away on June 9th, 2014.
Julie was born in Elizabeth, NJ on March 19th, 1963 and lived in both New Jersey and Connecticut over her lifetime. Julie graduated from Danbury High School and pursued a career in the medical field as a Sterile Processing Technician and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked in many area hospitals over her career including Danbury Hospital and other Connecticut and New Jersey Hospitals.
While Julie loved helping others and was crazy about all animals, her true gift was to make people laugh. She would burst out an Ethel Merman song at the right moment and could imitate Bette Davis like no other. She probably missed her calling as an entertainer. She enjoyed all kinds of music, and loved Bill W and all of his friends.
Julie leaves behind her Mother, Phyllis Genz of Barnegat, NJ as well as her brother Jonathan Genz, sister-in-law Susan, niece Christina, and nephew Craig, all of Beacon Falls, CT. She also leaves behind her partner, Fran Hickman, of Sandy Hook.
Julie was predeceased by her brother Jeffrey Genz and her father John Genz.
Julie loved dogs more than she loved flowers so if you would like to remember Julie with a gift feel free to donate to one of her favorite charities: The Newtown Park & Bark www.newtownparkandbark.org
Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home 58 Main Street, Newtown, CT Saturday June 14th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm with a Memorial Service at 3:00pm.
