Obituary for Marie T. "Bunny" DeMarco (Wilson)

Marie T. "Bunny"  DeMarco (Wilson)
Marie T. “Bunny” DeMarco, age 71, of Sandy Hook, died on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Donald J. DeMarco, also of Sandy Hook.
Mrs. DeMarco was born in New York City on July 6, 1937, the daughter of William and Mary (Brady) Wilson. She grew up in Glen Cove, New York, and attended Misericordia Nursing School in New York City where she earned her Registered Nursing degree in 1958. She married her true love on July 12, 1958 and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last July surrounded by children, grandchildren and great-grandson. Family was the joy of her life and her faith was its bedrock. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Newtown.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. DeMarco is survived by her daughter, Donna M. DeMarco of Brookfield; her son, Donald P. DeMarco of Cary, NC; her daughter Susanne M. Brown and her husband Matthew of Jackson, NJ; her daughter Lisa A. Green and her husband Brekke of Lake Ariel, PA; and her daughter Jean M. Milano and her husband Thomas of Sandy Hook. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Colin Brown, Genevieve Green, Kathryn Green, Maggie DeMarco, Kathleen Brown, Emily DeMarco, Andrew Green, Gabrielle Milano, Connor Brown, Michael Green, Patrick Milano, Megan Milano and Jillian Milano, as well as her two great-grandsons, Zachary Brown and Christopher Duno.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2009,(today) from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Newtown, followed by interment in St. Rose Cemetery in Sandy Hook.
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Masonicare in Newtown for the care provided to Mrs. DeMarco this past year, the various members of the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the wonderful staff at Danbury Hospital for always providing fine care and compassion, most especially its ICU team.
