Mary Geraldine”Gerrie” Virgilio, 90 of Newtown died peacefully on March 2, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Virgilio was the wife of Dominick R. Virgilio. She was born in New York City on March 23, 1922. Gerrie had a successful career as a supervisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. In addition to her husband of 70 years, her loving family includes her daughters, Diane Lindenbaum and her husband Lou of Ridgefield and Joan Burg and her husband Michael of Ridgefield; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday March 5th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Interment will follow at 2:00pm Wednesday at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, LI, NY.
