Robert A. Girard, Sr. age 55 of Monroe died Tuesday March 19th in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was born in Bridgeport November 12, 1957 a son of the late William and Jean (Kinch) Girard. Bob was educated in Monroe schools and was a graduate of Masuk High School. For many years he was employed as a carpet installer. Mr. Girard was known to his family and friends as great man, having a “heart of gold”. Bob loved the New York Yankees, Harley Davidson motorcycles and classic cars. Survivors include his daughter Jacqueline Girard and his son Robert A. Girard, Jr.; a brother, William Girard and 2 sisters, Lynn Gervais and Sheila Gervais all of Newtown; and his grandchildren Alyssa and Cordell. Funeral Services will be held Friday March 22nd at 7:00pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Friends may call Friday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm prior to the service.
