Obituary for Rodney "Rod" Watts

Rodney "Rod"  Watts
Rodney Watts, 64, of Waterbury passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven after a courageous battle with Cancer. Mr. Watts was born October 1, 1946 in Attleboro, MA to the late Mary (Collins) and William Watts Jr. He served proudly in the Air Force from 1965-1969. He received his MBA from Bryant College and worked as a sales and marketing executive for most of his career. Rodney was an accomplished wood worker, golfer and hot air balloonist as well as an avid sailor, fisherman, gardener and cook. He was especially proud of his involvement in the Patriot Guard Riders of CT, “Standing for those who stood for us”. Mr. Watts is survived by his daughter, Amy Dalton and her husband Matthew of Newtown; son, Glenn Watts and his wife Sandie of Manchester; grandsons William Dalton, Sean Dalton, Hayden Watts and Jameson Watts as well as a granddaughter, Catherine Dalton. He also leaves behind three sisters, Carolyn McAdams, and her husband Louis, of Ridgefield; Priscilla Trudell, and her husband Russell, of Littleton, NH and Beth Difiore, and her husband David, of Attleboro, MA, as well as nieces and nephews.
Friends may call in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown on Monday September 19th, 2011 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Interment will be private.
