Obituary for Rose Reggiano (Lodato)

Rose  Reggiano (Lodato)
Rose L. Reggiano, age 88 of Sandy Hook died August 21, 2013 at Masonicare at Newtown. She was born in Smithers, West Virginia on October 28, 1924, one of ten children of the late Mario and Angela (Castro) Lodato. Rose was a graduate of Montgomery High School in Smithers. Following high school, she moved along with her family to Stamford, CT where she worked for Lodato’s 5 and 10 Cent Store, American Cyanamid and United House Wrecking. In 1957 she married Arthur A. Reggiano, Jr., they were married for 48 years until Mr. Reggiano’s death in 2005.Together they raised their three children. While in Stamford, Rose was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and was a member of the Columbiettes. She also was a volunteer at Fisher House. A resident of Sandy Hook since 2004, she was a Communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Newtown Senior Center. Rose was an avid bowler and bocce player. She enjoyed going on Senior Center trips, loved to play bingo and going to the Casinos. Rose was an accomplished baker. Mrs. Reggiano is survived by three children, Arthur Reggiano, III and his wife Anna of Trumbull, RoseAnn Reggiano of Sandy Hook and Mary Ann Viesto of Newtown; 2 brothers, Mario Lodato of Ridgefield and John Lodato of Stamford; 2 sisters, Toni Zezima of Wilton and Josephine Cunningham of Norwalk; 6 grandchildren, Angela, Bianca, Theresa, Michele, Gabriella and A.J; numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her siblings, Ross, Pauline, Mattie, Phillip and Angie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown Monday August 26th at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
