Theresa (Terry) Koczy Komornik died peacefully at home on May 9. She was born on October 2, 1932, daughter of Paul and Madeline Koczy of Fairfield. She was also predeceased by her sister, Barbara Olson.
A long-time resident of Newtown, Theresa enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, and doing her many craft projects. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph; five children and their spouses: Dawn Komornik of Watertown, Holly and Joseph Kocet of Newtown, Robin and Alan Austin of Danbury, Tami Komornik of Southbury, and Heather and Steve Cronin of Watertown; five grandchildren: Ryan McNally and wife Ashley, Kristen Behr and husband William, Matthew Kocet, Samantha and Mandy Cronin; three great-grandchildren: Lily, Kinley, and Olivia; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Monday, May 14 from 4:00-7:00PM at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A service will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 11:00AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, 208 S. Main Street, Newtown.
