Obituary for Vernon George "Skip" Agen

Vernon G. “Skip” Agen age 75, husband of Elizabeth (McDonnell) Agen of Brookfield died Friday April 11, 2009 in Danbury Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 20, 1934 a son of the late Vernon G. and Lillian (Suss) Agen, II. Mr. Agen attended Springfield schools and was a graduate of American International College. He served in the US Navy from as a Corpsman from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. Skip was employed in medical sales and medical advertising and retired in 1999 from American Chemical Society.
A resident of Brookfield since 1974, Mr. Agen was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and for several years participated in Eucharistic Adoration at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church. Mr. “A” was well known for the Rosaries he made for the children receiving their first communion at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield and St. Rose Church in Newtown. Mr. Agen also acted in many local theatre productions.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by a daughter, Li Agen and her husband Michael J. Wodjonski and their twin sons, Madox and Saxton of New Milford; and a son, Brian A. Agen and his wife Beth of Danbury.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, Brookfield Thursday April 16, 2009 at 10:00am. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery will be private. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
