Obituary for Vincent Theodore Wojcik

Vincent Theodore  Wojcik
Vincent T. Wojcik, Sr., 66, of Monroe, CT passed away on December 11, 2009 in his sleep.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Marion “Mike” Wojcik and Jean (Bober) Wojcik. Vincent graduated high school from Warwick Vets in Rhode Island, and went on to graduate from the University of Rhode Island with a BA Degree in Business. He later graduated from University of Southern California, and received a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Marshall School of Business.

Vince was married to his former wife, Jessica S. Funes on September 1, 1968.

Captain Vince Wojcik was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the United States Army from July 1966 to September 1968. Vince received his active commission upon graduation from ROTC at University of Rhode Island into the Adjutant General Corps. He served in Vietnam from September 1966 to September 1967 as the Post Master General of the 9th Infantry Division. He received the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After service to his country Vince enjoyed a career in the banking and financial industry. He worked at Wells Fargo for several years as a Branch Manager in San Francisco, CA and then went on to other positions within the bank in southern California. He became an independent financial consultant before retiring at an early age.

Vince is survived by three children: Ray Wojcik, of Pleasanton, Ca; Ted Wojcik, of Newtown, CT; and Ken Wojcik of Fairfax Station, VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Katie, Lizzie, Teddy, Ken and Jules Wojcik. Vince is also survived by his two brothers: Michael Wojcik, of Providence, RI and Jerry Wojcik, of Barnstable, MA; and his two sisters: Dolores Pratt, of Attleboro, MA; and Joanne Andrews of Cranston, RI.
A funeral service with military honors will be held in the Chapel of the Connecticut State Veteran’s Cemetery at 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT on Saturday December 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM.
