Obituary for Virginia Marie "Jean" Braccio



Virginia "Jean" Braccio passed away peacefully after a long illness on January 10th 2013 at the age of 82 at Glen Hill Care and Rehabilitation Center in Danbury. She was a long time resident of Greenwich and in later life of Stamford.

Jean was born Virginia Marie Kaldus in Greenwich on August 7, 1930 to the late Lena (Anna) and Jacob Kaldus. She graduated from St Mary Grade School & Greenwich High School and later attended and graduated from Stamford Hair Dressing Academy. She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years Peter A Braccio and three sisters; Agnes & Lucy Kaldus and Carolyn Castiglione. Virginia is survived by her daughter Wendy Borchetta, and husband Charles of Newtown, son Peter G. Braccio and wife Rachel of Carmel Valley CA, and a sister Barbara Goulemas and several nieces & nephews.

There was always a special place in Jean's heart for her five grandchildren: Jessica, Joshua, and Stephen Borchetta and Jacob and Sierra Braccio. Jean’s life was guided by her firm dedication to family, friends, faith and country. She will be remembered for her welcoming and fun loving spirit which included passions for cooking, knitting and bridge games. Those who knew Jean, including many lifelong friends will recall that she would be there whenever help or care was needed.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jean's life will be held on Sat Feb 16 at 10am at St Roch RC Church in Greenwich. Internment will follow at St Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
