Virginia M. (Kelley) Cooney, 84, of Newtown, CT and previously of Monroe, CT died June 15th at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Daniel Cooney, to whom she was married for 50 years. Virginia was the devoted mother of Alice, Daniel, Patrick and his wife Laura and Mathew Cooney. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kellie Kravarik and P.J., Grace and Liam Cooney. She always had a kind word and loved to read. She was the youngest and last survivor of 11 siblings. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday 06/18/2014, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Thursday at 10:30am. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
