Virginia (Lee) “Ginny” Lathrop, 94 of Main Street, Newtown passed away Saturday November 7, 2009 after a wonderful and joyful life.
Ginny, after a brilliant dance career in show business, was the Owner-Director of the Lathrop School of Dance for the last 58 years.
She lives behind her niece Barbie Lee of Swampscott, MA and a nephew, Rev. George Carroll of Boulevard, CA and several great nieces and great nephews, along with countless friends and loved ones. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mack Lathrop.
Friends may call Tuesday (Today) in the Honan Funeral Home 58 Main St. Newtown from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Wednesday November 11, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery. To honor Ginny, donations may be made to the Newtown Scholarship Association or to the Pediatric Unit of Danbury Hospital, c/o the Danbury Hospital Development Fund, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810.
