BETHEL — William Francis Casey, 96, a lifelong resident of Waterbury, died peacefully on April 29, 2016, at Bethel Health Care Center in Bethel, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Waterbury, Feb. 3, 1920, a son of the late Margaret Feely Casey and William Casey. Mr. Casey was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Katherine (Smith) Casey.

Bill was a huge sports fan and an avid golfer at East Mountain Golf course. But what he cherished most was the time spent with his family, summer vacations, family dinners and being surrounded by his grandchildren.

Bill proudly served as a Sergeant in the Army in World War ll. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church for many years, until he moved to Bethel and became a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown.

Mr. Casey was employed by Connecticut Light and Power Co., in the engineering department, for 42 years, until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Susan Kociszewski and husband Richard of Watertown, Bill Casey of Hartford, Patricia DeMaida and husband Joseph of Newtown, and Bob Casey and his wife, Traci, of Seattle, Wash. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristina Barker and husband Chris, Brian Kociszewski and wife Michelle, Robert Casey and wife Tanya, Brandon Casey and Jordan Casey; and his great-grandchildren, Christopher Barker, Brian Barker and Tatum Kociszewski. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph.

The Casey family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff and residents at Bethel Health Care and the Cascades Assisted Living Facility for the outstanding care and love they shared with our father. For all their friendship we are forever grateful.

We love you Dad and Grampie and will miss your smile.
