Condolence From: Nancy Gates
Condolence: Maya Angelou said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." I won't forget how Jean made me feel. She was sweet, beautiful and kind to me when I was a brand new Army wife living across the driveway from her and Dick, although Dick was in Viet Nam. When my husband, Dick, was at work one day, Jean invited me to her apartment and fixed the most delicious lunch for us, and introduced me to the Army way of life in a kind, introspective way. She made me feel comfortable as an Army wife. That was 45 years ago, I haven't forgotten it, and I won't. I wrote this because I want her children to know how wonderful she was to others. Nancy Gates
