Scott B. Smith, age 41 of Danbury died May 21, 2013. He was born in Danbury on November 6, 1971 a son of Bonnie (Mayberry) Smith of Southbury and the late Kenneth B. Smith, Jr. Scott grew up in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1990. He also graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1994 and the Connecticut Police Academy in 1996. Scott played baseball both in high school and college. During his senior year at Quinnipiac, Scott was a member of the tennis team. In recent years, Scott competed in Triathlons and completed three Iron Man competitions.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter, Montannah of Austin, Texas; a sister, Teri Smith of Sandy Hook; a niece and nephew, Alison and Matthew Fernand and several Aunts and Uncles.
Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Tuesday May 28th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montannah Kenney-Smith Fund, Care of Newtown Savings Bank, 685 Main Street South, Southbury, CT 06488 will be appreciated.
