his town. He was a landmark. He will be missed by many people who knew him and saw him around Newtown.

As a retired Vice Pres. of Newtown Savings Bank, I can attest to the great service Fred and his "team" provided to the bank, especially when it snowed.

I wish to give him a final salute for the nice person he was.

Condolence: My prayers and condolences to the entire Pendergast family. I have fond memories of Fred through the years. He was my school bus driver, and in later years my neighbor and friend. He was a kind, caring, fun filled guy.

We moved to Newtown and Fred was our refuse collection person for many years. He was a jovial person who was larger than life. All good thoughts of Fred.

Condolence: Condolences to the Pendergast family. Mr. Pendergast was the nicest, sweetest bus driver any one could ask for. I always felt safe on my long ride to and from school.
