Obituary for Kirk Bruce Fraczek

Kirk Bruce Fraczek
Kirk Bruce Fraczek, 61, of Newtown, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on January 4, 2014 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Kirk was born in Bridgeport on February 15, 1952 to Bruce and Yvonne Fraczek. He married his beloved wife Nancy in 1972, and for the past 40 years resided in Newtown where their lives centered around their sons and family life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brennan and his wife Johanna of Trumbull; his son Justin and his wife Jennifer of New Milford; his brother Lee Fraczek of Yonkers, NY; his sister-in-law Karen Karker and her husband Neal; his sister-in-law Janice Sature and her husband Mark; many nieces and nephews. Kirk also leaves behind six cherished grandsons Gavin, Keenan, and Beckett of Trumbull; and Westley, Callan, and Logan of New Milford.
Recently retired from work as an electrician, Kirk was a member of Local Union #488 IBEW since 1970. He was a dedicated employee who thoroughly enjoyed his craft. Kirk was a devoted father who was always his sons’ biggest fan and supporter in numerous arenas including cub scouts, marching band, little league, and football. He was a consummate craftsman; there was nothing that he could not build or fix. His favorite pastimes were collecting and restoring vintage cars, making home improvements, and caring for wild birds.
Kirk lived his life with dignity and grace. He was a gentle, generous, and loving man who was adored by family and friends, especially his six grandsons who will sorely miss their Papa on the sidelines during sporting events, while apple picking, and during family events and vacations. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather extraordinaire.
The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, January 8th at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Memorial donations may be made to the Newtown Scholarship Association,P.O.Box 302, Newtown, CT 06470. To honor Kirk’s memory, please consider performing an act of kindness in his name.
